It has been a loooong time. I needed to take a break from this blog for a little while, but I feel inspired and encouraged to start blogging again. However, it may be a little different.
Recently, I began to change my lifestyle. I became vegetarian and have been trying to live a more green, sustainable lifestyle.
I've had the privilege of being able to take an Environmental Justice class this semester, and I've loved it and become really passionate about it! The other day, my professor was teaching us the permaculture flower, which represents ethics and principles to help create a sustainable culture. Permaculture is mainly taught as an agricultural system that is intended to be self sufficient and sustainable. However, as our professor was teaching these principles, I could not help but relate them to my every day life (that does not include farming!)
As you can see, the three main goals are care for the earth, care for people, and fair share. Along the outside are principles to implement while practicing permaculture. My goal is to implement this design into my every day life and live as sustainable as possible. These principles can also be used to foster physical and mental wellness.
It won't happen over night... it will most likely happen in slow, small steps and I may not ever be "perfect" or the most sustainable or environmentally friendly person in the world.
But I intend to share my journey here. You can look forward to posts about food, fashion, lifestyle, etc... just from a different standpoint than you might be used to! I'm very excited and I hope you are too.
